Accommodation
There are several accommodation options open to IFP students:
Halls of Residence
Many students choose to live in halls during the Foundation Programme. They can be great places to meet and make friends with others students.
The table below gives the prices per week (academic year 2010/2011) for selected halls:

Most halls allocate rooms on a first come first served basis so you should look into the options immediately and book as soon as you have secured your place on the IFP.
The Bureau keeps all the most up-to-date information on their web site www.londonmet.ac.uk/accommodation, so please make sure you check it regularly.
Most halls offer full year Licences (tenancy agreements – the legal contract to stay in the hall) from September to June or September. However, we also advertise a range of halls that offer short-term or single semester accommodation for those students who start their studies in the spring semester. Please visit the Accommodation Bureau ‘Single Semester Accommodation’ web page: (www.londonmet.ac.uk/accommodation/halls-of-residence/single-sem.cfm).
Private rented accommodation
There are lots of ways that the Accommodation Bureau can help you to find suitable rented accommodation (house or flat share) in London. They have an interactive web site called Netlet designed to help with all aspects of this type of accommodation, offering advice and information on when and where to look as well as adverts from landlords, Estate Agents and other students seeking flat/house mates. Go to: www.londonmet.ac.uk/accommodation/pvt-rented/home
In addition, there is an active Facebook page for Netlet called ‘Netlet London Met’ where you can see vacancies posted by students as well as communicate with others about their experiences.
Please note the Accommodation Bureau strongly advises students not to pay any money or sign a contract for private rented accommodation until you have been to London and visited the property you are interested in. If you are unsure about something please contact them directly.

Short-term accommodation
If you are planning on visiting the university before your course starts, or need somewhere to stay while you are looking for private rented accommodation, or have friends and relatives wanting to visit you while you are here you will need to arrange short-term accommodation. You will find a list of Bed and Breakfasts and Hotels in the local area that you can stay at on website: www.londonmet.ac.uk/accommodation/short-stay/hotels-and-bed-&-breakfasts
Accommodation after your first year of study
Many students who stay in halls during their first year of study make friends and decide to live with them in private rented accommodation (see section above), however the halls we advertise do not exclude students in the second or third year of study so they remain an option.
