Current Projects
This mentoring projects aims to encourage and support the academic development of Turkish , Kurdish and Congolese students in Hackney through raising their aspiration and motivation to higher education.The project has been designed in consultation with the London Metropolitan University, and EMA Consultants at the Hackney Learning Trust.
This project is aimed at Year 10 Turkish/Kurdish and Congolese students. The project will involve 6 Metropolitan University Student Ambassadors (4 Turkish/ Kurdish+2 Congolese) who will act as mentors to 4-5 school students, 20-25 mentees in total. Mentees will be recruited from Hackney secondary schools, and will be selected by teachers and the EMA Consultants.. Mentoring will be given both in person and online, with platforms for online mentoring currently being explored. Online mentoring and a training programme will be co-ordinated by an qualified ICT tutor at London Metropolitan University.
