What is a sandwich placement?
A sandwich placement is an industrial placement of 1 year duration (46 weeks) or pro-rata part-time. This work is recognised as a double module. The placement module carries 30 credits at advanced level, which means you only have to take 6 taught modules in the final year on successful completion of the placement.
The activities undertaken must be of a suitable level and must be relevant to the degree studied.
The placement is paid usually between £11,000 and £14,000.
It is usually taken between year 2 and 3 of the degree or when a minimum of 4 passes at intermediate level have been achieved.
