• Dr. Manjula Datta a steering group member of our centre has been awarded the position of Research Fellow of the Centre for Multilingualism in Education, London Metropolitan University. Our Congratulations and best wishes to Manjula.

• Tozun Issa and Alison Hatt will be presenting their findings of the Multilingual Nursery Project at the forthcoming Children's Citizenship and Identity (CiCe) conference in Istanbul 29th-31st May 2008.

• Vally Lytra of Kings College. London An Associate member of our Centre has a new book out titled 'Play Frames: Social Identities' published by John Benjamins.

• Alayne Özturk and Tözün Issa have presented a paper titled ‘ Cross- curricular Approaches to supporting bilingual children in the classroom’ at 44th annual United Kingdom Literacy Association (UKLA) conference in Liverpool 11- 13 July 2008.

• Alayne Özturk and Tözün Issa have published a mini book titled Practical Strategies for Multilingual Classrooms published by UKLA (2008)

• Cathy Pomphrey and Suzanne Burley are appointed as Editors of Language Awareness Journal.
