The Faculty of Computing launched the monthly Student Enterprise Workshop (SEW) series in October 2009. They aim to make our students more aware of what is happening in industry, and benefit from industrial liaison by inviting speakers from our industrial partners, our alumni and other businesses and organisations. It provides a link between our industrial contacts and our students for their mutual benefit and improves our students’ employability through their interaction with industry. It increases the Faculty’s enterprise network and potentially creates internship opportunities for our students, as well as work placements and graduate jobs. The workshops are highly interactive, speakers will bring their experiences and inform our students about their industry, and share a few Q&A sessions over a cup of tea or coffee. So far, we have had speakers from Microsoft, Cisco, BATS Europe and Make Me Believe Ltd, with more to come in our next SEWs.
