Resource Based Learning: comments archiveDate: Thu, 5 Nov 1998 I am at the moment researching into the use of new technology, with particular reference to the internet, to teach fashion and textiles design to BA level in a third-world country. The last sections of the project I am not too worried about as I can find very litte on visual teaching by the use of new technology and or interactive teaching of any kind. If you are aware of any one that has written the subject or is researching into these kinds of media I would be grateful if you could let me know. Date: Tue, 6 Oct 1998 "One has to ask what students will do with the material in order to learn whatever they are supposed to learn." This quote from Brown and Gibbs in Reasons for employing RBL. This issue applies to any method/medium by which a student learns. Is there any current or recent research that tracks the source of student learning in relation to their course-assessed work? Not easy to do, but has anyone tried and succeeded? Date: Tue, 24 Mar 1998 Does anyone know if there is specific evidence in terms of students' achievement results, for the effect of resource based learning on students' work, compared with other teaching methods? Would be interested if you know of any. |
