  • Key Skills
    The Department for Education and Skills (DfES) website. This site outlines the Government's position on key skills, it looks at the way forward and some of the issues which surround future developments. It aims to identify where key skills fit within qualifications, education and training programmes. Here, you will find information on what the key skills are and historical information. The information contained in these pages refer to England only unless specifically stated.
  • Hertfordshire Integrated Learning project (HILP)
    HILP is concerned with the integration of skills development with academic content in higher education. The project is based at the University of Hertfordshire, UK and covers eleven disciplines ranging from environmental sciences to history and from engineering to music.
  • Key Skills
    Details of a project being undertaken at the University of Central Lancashire in the UK. Includes case studies at the University, resources for students and links to other sites.
  • Key Skills: a framework for learning
    Very useful site at the Open University.
  • The Keynote Project
    The 'Keynote' project aims to disseminate and embed good practice within curricula to enhance students' (studying textiles / fashion and material) awareness for future employment and lifelong learning through a realisation of key skills: communication, information technology, numeracy, learning to learn and working with others. Consortium partners are Nottingham Trent University, The London Institute and the University of Leeds School of Textile Industries. 
  • Skills Development Project
    Details of the University of Surrey, UK, project with useful links.
  • The Key to Key Skills
    Describes the work of a project at Sheffield Hallam University, UK, which aims to implement a web system to support students' Key Skills. It is expected that a template for HE institutions to develop web-based key skill support will be available early in 2000.
