Publishers

Publishers of educational texts, many with contents listings as well as ordering information and reviews.

• Annual Reviews is a nonprofit publisher which provides " systematic, periodic examinations of scholarly advances in a number of fields of science through critical authoritative reviews." The review covers biomedical sciences, physical sciences, social sciences and biomedical engineering. It also has a gateway of extensive links in science generally.
• Blackwell Publishers publishes books, journals and educational software. The site has a comprehensive search facility to information about publications and an online form to join the Blackwell mailing list.
• Effective Teaching: Book Reviews set up and maintained by the University of North Carolina, USA
• John Wiley &Sons Ltd. publishes academic textbooks and journals. The site has a comprehensive search facility and contents alphabetical listing.
• Kogan Page provides a searchable index to the range of books on higher and further education which it publishes.
• Mantex Information Design is a publisher as well as an information design and training business. It publishes materials on writing skills, study skills, and computer literacy. Mantex specialises in electronic publications and produces computer-based learning programs.
• Open University Press publishes many titles in association with the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE). It has a registration service for notification of new publications by e-mail.
• Open University Resources provides details and ordering information for undergraduate learning resources - workbooks, videos, audios and software - available for sale from the UK Open University.
• Oxford University Press web site has its publications categorised and a search facility. Publications can be ordered online.
• Sage Publications is a major publishers of educational and professional books, journals, newsletters, software and CD-ROMs. The site can be searched for publications in a variety of ways.
• SARA (Scholarly Articles Research Alerting) is a free service, designed to deliver by e-mail, tables of contents for any issue of Taylor & Francis group journals (including Carfax and Routeledge).
• South Western College Publishing publishes books in business and related subjects.
• Symposium Books publishes books on comparative and international studies in education.
• Taylor & Francis Publishers (includes Carfax and Routeledge) is a major publisher of journals and books for the higher education community.
• Technical and Educational Services publishes the Interesting Ways to Teach Series. The site contains content lists and ordering information of the books currently available in the series.
• Triangle Journals are publishers of journals covering a range of topics in education.
