London Metropolitan University has been successfully delivering CIM qualifications for over 25 years. Its Moorgate campus is based in the heart of the City of London, a convenient location for many of our students. Our strong team of tutors, with a wide range of practitioner experience, will offer feedback and support to enable students to maximise their time on the course. Opportunities are also provided to undertake relevant assessment practice.
This newly redesigned course is aimed at the aspiring professional marketer who wishes to gain the knowledge and skills to succeed and progress within a career in marketing. The qualification provides a practical insight into the principles and application of marketing at a tactical level.
The London Guildhall Faculty of Business & Law aims to ensure students are supported through their CIM certificate in professional marketing whilst offering a rewarding educational experience. Students will receive high quality teaching and the opportunity to undertake exam and assessment practice. Our experts offer valuable feedback and advice to enable students to maximise their time on the course.
You will be assessed across the modules using a blend of assignments, examinations and portfolio work. Assessment methods used within the qualification are driven by the needs of employers and practitioners, relevant and appropriate for business needs.
This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
To gain entry onto the Certificate in Professional Marketing one or more of the following is required:
- CIM Level 3 Introductory Certificate in Marketing qualification.
- Any relevant Level 3 qualification.
- Any UK degree or international equivalent.
- International Baccalaureate (equivalent to NQF Level 3 and above).
We also accept students on both courses who have experience in professional practice.
To gain the full qualification you are required to complete three of the four following modules:
- Marketing (Mandatory)
- Integrated Communications (Mandatory)
- Digital Marketing (Elective)
All classes take place at our new refurbished Moorgate campus with evening classes running from 6pm - 9pm and can be taken as a full course or as a self-contained award for each module.
Students who have previously completed ‘Marketing Essentials and Assessing the Marketing Environment’ after 2008 as part of the previous Certificate will be exempt from the new ‘Marketing’ module.
The CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing will help to develop and enhance your knowledge and prospects within your current company and marketing career. This qualification gives you the practical skills and knowledge to devise and execute tactical marketing activities and gain marketing credibility.
On completion of this course you may wish to progress further with your CIM studies by undertaking the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing.
When you enrol for a minimum of two modules, each module is charged at £650 each. Alternatively if you enrol for just one module it will be charged at £700. Please note additional fees are payable direct to the CIM for their studying membership and for each assessment undertaken.
Typically students complete this course in twelve to eighteen months but the new modular pathway qualification has been structured to reflect the need for a flexible approach. Therefore each module can also be taken as a self-contained award which can be built up to attain the full certificate.
