Extended Degree courses
Extended degree courses are University courses designed to help applicants who may not have the formal qualifications required for entry onto the degree, but who have the potential to succeed if given an extended preparation.
The extended degree programmes incorporate a Foundation Year in Art, Media, Design, Science, Computing or Engineering, which serves as a 'year zero' of our four-year full-time or five-year sandwich BA (Hons)/BSc (Hons)/BEng (Hons) extended degree courses.
Extended degree in Architecture and Interior Design
The Department of Architecture and Spatial Design offers a range of pre-degree courses for students who want to develop their design skills, do not have conventional academic qualifications, want to change careers, or want to improve their English before studying for a degree. These intensive Foundation courses emphasise the basic knowledge and skills needed for design. We aim to enable you to develop your own potential, drawing out your capabilities and creativity and developing your confidence.
Extended degree in Art, Media, Design
This Foundation Year in Art, Media & Design, is the first year (or year 0) of a 4-year extended programme of undergraduate studies at The Cass. A foundation year offers the opportunity to engage, explore and experiment with a diverse range of art, media and design subjects. Students build up a portfolio of skills and experience sufficient to guarantee progress to whichever of our thirty degree courses is most appropriate to their needs and aspirations.
