Grants and Scholarships
If you are a UK student intending to study full-time you may be eligible to apply for a range of income-assessed grants or scholarships to help you with your fees and living costs. If you are intending to study part-time you may be eligible to apply for a scholarship to help you with your fee costs. If you are eligible for a grant or scholarship these will not have to be repaid.
FULL-TIME STUDENTS
The Government has introduced a National Scholarship Programme which each University will administer. For more info visit the National Scholarship Programme page
MAINTENANCE GRANT/SPECIAL SUPPORT GRANT
- Up to £3250
- Income-assessed – full grant if household income is £25,000 or less.
- You will receive either the Maintenance Grant or the Special Support Grant depending on your circumstances.
- Students eligible for the Special Support Grant will usually be: lone parents; student parents whose partner is also a student; students with a registered disability.
- If you receive the Maintenance Grant, your Maintenance Loan will be reduced by up to £1625.
- If you receive the Special Support Grant, your Maintenance Loan will not be reduced.

SUPPLEMENTARY GRANTS
If you are a student parent, or live with an adult who depends on you financially, or if you have a registered disability, you may be entitled to additional grants.
