Luli Velez Commercial Languages Consultant Luli Velez is responsible for managing and developing income-generating language courses and managing projects with external partners (e.g. the Training and Development Agency - TDA) as well as undertaking market analysis and business planning to raise the profile and maximise income for commercial languages. Ian Lebeau Senior Lecturer in English as a Foreign Language His management experience includes 5 years as Head of EFL in Japanese universities. At London Met Ian has been Course Director for the Summer School in English Language and Cultural Studies (1994-2004) and Course Organiser for the Diploma in Foundation Studies (2000-2007). His teaching expertise lies in: General English and Academic English (especially writing skills); Business English; English for Art, Media and Design; British Culture and short courses (including refresher courses for overseas teachers). His research interests include: curriculum, course and module development; content and language integrated learning (CLIL); materials design. Ian is the co-author of three levels of the General English course Language Leader. His marketing experience includes producing the English Language Programmes brochure (1999-2005). Susannah McKee Senior Lecturer in English as a Foreign Language Susannah has worked at London Metropolitan University since 2006. She organises and teaches on the Pre-sessional English for academic purposes course and also teaches General English. She has been teaching since 1996, working in France, Spain and Italy as well as the UK. She has worked as a trainer of English language teachers on Cambridge CELTA courses and now teaches on the refresher course for international teachers of English. She writes for Macmillan ELT, working mainly on Secondary ELT and Graded Readers. She also has an interest in blended learning and has worked on e-learning materials for EAP and ESOL Skills for Life. Andrew Scott Senior Lecturer in English as a Foreign Language Andrew joined London Metropolitan University in 2010 and lectures on English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses, General English courses and short courses. He has taught in Turkey, Italy and Australia. Since completing his CELTA at International House Cape Town in 1999, he has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer and director of studies. Marc Lawlor Marc is originally from North London, but spent three years studying in Cardiff before returning to the South East. He worked in Finance for 6 years before joining the ELS team in August 2006. Marc completed his MA Digital Media at London Metropolitan University in 2009 and continues to work for the ELS department looking after their Finances and WebPages. Marc likes working in the ELS department as he enjoys interacting with the great variety of nationalities our student body represents. Dawn Fernandez Dawn works with the Department’s agents from around in the world in recruiting students, and is involved in promoting and marketing the department and the many courses it provides to both institutions overseas and prospective students. Milly Hassadi Milly joined London Metropolitan University in February 2010. She deals with all ELS admissions and provides information and advice to prospective and current international students on studying English in the UK. She also provides information on applying for visas and university entry requirements. Milly comes from an International background and has experience working and living abroad in places such as London, Italy, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Languages spoken: English, Italian and some Arabic.
