CAPD also has it''s own Teaching and Learning Technology Centre (TLTC) which promotes and supports the effective use of learning technologies in teaching and learning. Many of the University''s disabled students benefit from access to specialist software that is designed to make information accessible e.g. screen magnifiers, screen readers. Further details on the packages available and their locations are available from the Disabilities and Dyslexia Service. Similar software may be available for staff via the Access to Work scheme - contact the university co-ordinator for further details on obtaining an assessment of needs.
Evision is the name of the facility which allows staff and students to access the SITS student records system via the web. At present there are two components to Evision (click on link for further information):
Evision Student Lookup - allows staff to see the screens that a student can see when they access Evision in order to check their student record, including results.
Evision Mark Entry - allows staff to enter marks directly onto the SITS records system.
Evision Online Programme Planning - allows staff to view the modules which a student has selected online, and if appropriate, approve them.
To request an Evision account, your line manager should email Chris Hockley (c.hockley@londonmet.ac.uk) with details of the following:
- username
- full name
- reason for requesting access to Evision
MISline is a facility that enables any member of University staff to view details from the SITS student records system via the web. Depending on your level of access you will be able to view:
- Admissions: applicant contact and application details
- Student personal and contact details
- Registered module details
- Student results
- Lists of students by module
- Lists of student results by module
To request an MISline account your line manager should email Tracy Palmer (t.palmer@londonmet.ac.uk) with details of the following:
- name
- job title
- room
- extension
- reason for requesting access to MISline
SITS is the main student records database within the university. SITS access will provide information that is not displayed in EVISION or MISLine.
To request a SITS account the line manager of the member of staff requesting the account should email sitsaccounts@londonmet.ac.uk with the following details:
- the full contact details of the member of staff (name, tel, email, dept, campus)
- Username for network login to staff PC
- Asset number of PC (North Campus staff only)
- start date
- details of end date if temporary staff
- the level of access required
- the type of request — new account/delete account/change access
- whether you would like access to Eureka reports and/or Evision student lookup (see guidelines for details)
Requests will be responded to within 48 hours.
WebCT is an virtual learning enviroment (known as a VLE). The website allows you to construct pages specifically for students on a particular module or course. Typical uses of WebCT include:
- Communicating directly to an individual student or the whole class
- Conducting assessments and providing grades and feedback
- Distributing course information and learning materials
- Monitoring student participation in WebCT
