The Diploma in Architecture, the MA Architecture and Interior Design and our diploma and postgraduate research units are central to ASD's design culture. We are strongly committed to engaging with the complex issues that shape the built environment and seek to empower students with the confidence and skills that are absolutely necessary in today's world. At present, the School offers seven diploma and postgraduate design units, all of which are tied to the particular social, political and cultural issues for which the School and its staff are renowned.
The curriculum demands very high levels of creative insight and energy of the students. One of the outstanding features of ASD at both undergraduate and diploma and postgraduate level is the relationship between practice and education-many of the tutors and lecturers at ASD are also researchers and practitioners, operating at a number of levels across education, theory and practice. In the current academic year, some of our tutor/practitioners include Raoul Bunschoten/CHORA, FLUID, UFO, Studio 3, EAST and Professor Florian Beigel's Architecture Research Unit (ARU).
