Parents' Learning Allowance
The Parents' Learning Allowance is a grant for students with children to help you pay for books, study materials, and travel. You won't need to repay this grant.
- Whether you qualify for a grant depends on your household income.
- You must be a full-time UK* student.
*Some EU/EEA students may qualify. Please check out sections (2) and (3) of our information sheet EU/EEA undergraduate funding for exceptions.

How to apply
You will be considered for the Parents Learning Allowance if you indicate you are a parent in your Student Finance England funding application. Apply online by visiting the student finance section of the gov.uk website. If you're a full-time student applying online you might like to download our Full-time funding application guidance notes.
