Parents' Learning Allowance

The Parents' Learning Allowance is a grant for students with children to help you pay for books, study materials and travel. You won't need to repay this grant.

Eligibility criteria

  • whether you qualify for a grant depends on your household income 
  • you must be a full-time UK* student

How to apply

You will be considered for the Parents' Learning Allowance if you indicate you are a parent in your Student Finance England funding application. Apply online by visiting the student finance section of the gov.uk website
