Reference use of the libraries

Alumni can use our libraries, however to gain access to our University sites and buildings you must apply for an Alumni Association membership card. Unfortunately you cannot borrow books or use our online resources but you can use all material on the open shelves for reference and research purposes. You will not be able to use our private study rooms but all the libraries have areas for silent as well as group working.

Entry to alumni and other University events

If you register with the Alumni Association and give permission to be contacted by email you will be invited to Alumni and other University events throughout the year. These events include lectures and seminars.

Access to Careers Support

Alumni are welcome to come and use the Career Development and Employment Service (CDES) after they graduate from London Metropolitan University. The full service is only available to alumni for up to three years after graduation.

What can CDES help you with?

• Career planning
• Writing your CV, covering letter or application forms
• Performing well at interviews
• Psychometric testing
• Computer aided careers guidance Prospects Planner, which helps to clarify career ideas and suggests types of jobs that might suit you
• Recruitment of International Graduates
• The career service is open during term time from 9.30am-5pm. There is a drop in service every day between 12pm-3pm.

Discounts on postgraduate course fees

The University now offers a wide range of discounts for home and international alumni, if you plan to study postgraduate courses at the University.

UK/EU

A discount may apply for all taught postgraduate courses, to students who have previously completed and passed an undergraduate course at London Metropolitan University or its predecessor institutions*. Eligible courses are taught Masters, MBA, Diploma in Management Studies, PG Certificate, PG Diploma, LPC, CPE or Diploma in Psychology. The discount also applies to those students who are sponsored with the sponsoring organisation receiving the discount. The discount only applies to full course and does not include top up arrangements.

International full cost students

£1,000 scholarship for all masters students, paying fees over £6,000 who have already obtained a London Metropolitan, or predecessor institution* award of Dip HE, HND, Foundation degree, first degree, Masters degree. The discount also applies to those students who are sponsored with the sponsoring organisation receiving the discount.

Note: The internatiuonal full cost student scholarship does not apply to research degree, PGCEs, PG Diplomas or PG Certificates. 

Please note any discounts you receive may not be used in conjunction with another discount.

* Predecessor institutes are University of North London, London Guildhall University, Polytechnic of North London, City of London Polytechnic

Membership to the University's gyms and sports facilities

Alumni can use most of the University's sports facilities, which includes the University's gyms and a whole range of clubs and societies for a flat fee. For more details contact our Sports Centre on 020 7133 3620 (North Campus Sports Centre) or 020 7320 3412 (City Campus Fitness Centre).
