Cass and Claredale is a not-for-profit organisation providing comfortable, affordable and secure accommodation for students studying in London. They have long been associated with London Metropolitan University, providing accommodation predominantly for its students studying at our City campus.

Sir John Cass Hall is a purpose-built, two-storey building located in Well Street in Hackney. The hall is approximately three miles from both the City and the North campuses and both are served by good transport links.

The building comprises of 131 bedrooms with a large shared communal area with sky TV, table tennis and pool table. Kitchens and single-sex showers and toilets are shared throughout the building.

All rooms are centrally-heated and fully-furnished complete with a wash basin and a mini fridge. All rooms are approximately 6.6 square metres.

  • Single Room: £115 per week (£4,485 for 39 week fixed-term contract)

A deposit of £480 is required once a room offer is made.

Location & Map

The nearest tube is Bethnal Green. When you leave the tube station catch the 388 bus towards Hackney and get off at the second bus stop on Well Street. Cass is then on the street to your left.

From the City campus teaching sites, except for Moorgate, you can take the 254 bus towards Hackney from outside the Whitechapel Art Gallery. Get off the bus on Mare Street at the stop before the Well Street turning. The bus ride is approximately 20-25 minutes depending on traffic.

From the Moorgate building you can catch the 26 or 388 bus from outside Liverpool Street station on Bishopsgate. Get off the bus at the second stop on Well Street and Cass is on the street to your left. This is a 20 minute bus ride depending on traffic.

From the North campus teaching sites you can catch the 277 bus from Highbury and Islington directly to the Hall, it is a 25 minute ride.
