Holloway Road was originally the main route into London from the north and the last stopping point for cattle enroute to Smithfield. Now a typically busy London high street, Holloway Road was a thriving area for Welsh and Italian communities, with many people either working in the local shops (including Jones Brothers, now Waitrose) or in the City.
