Mentoring through sports
Our Mentoring through Sports programme aims to provide pastoral and academic support to students, and to encourage engagement, develop life skills and transferable skills essential to their future academic progression.
This programme will be offered to students from Year 8 and continue until they reach Year 10.
The programme follows the “Sandwich model” in that there will be three segments – two short sessions of football plus a half-time mentoring session, in which the mentee can receive academic or pastoral support. Added to this will be occasional talks or workshops delivered by professionals to encourage cognitive development and familiarise the students with Higher Education.
The football sessions will be designed to increase skills through a structured training routine, led by qualified coaches.
All abilities welcome.
