Quality and standards
Our teachers are passionate about inspiring you and underpinning everything we do is an absolute commitment to quality.
Our students' learning experience is at the centre of our new strategy.
We have committed to further investment in campus facilities, a re-launch of our global alumni network, increased contact hours between students and staff, and employability is embedded into all of our courses.
Quality in teaching
Our Quality Enhancement Unit acts as a centre in the University for the quality management and enhancement of all taught provision, both internal and off-campus, and has responsibility for Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) compliance, audits and liaison with other accreditation bodies such as the Middle States Commission for Higher Education (MSCHE) and the European University Association (EUA).
In 2011 London Met was awarded the highest accolade from the UK government's Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), for our academic standards and learning opportunities.
London Met was assessed on a range of areas including its management of academic standards, learning opportunities, quality enhancement and postgraduate research.
The most recent London Met QAA took place over several months and was completed in December 2010.
See London Met's full assessment by the QAA.
Quality in research
More than 2/3 of our research within the latest official Research Assessment Exercise was judged to be ‘internationally recognised’, ‘internationally excellent’ or ‘world leading’.
More than 10 per cent of our research submitted to six subject areas (Communication, Cultural and Media Studies; Architecture and the Built Environment; Pure Mathematics; Education; Social Work and Social Policy and Administration; and American Studies and Anglophone Area Studies) was judged to be ‘world-leading’.
